Carpet Longevity Testing
The Hexapod test is method to measure the performance of carpets, the test simulates wear and the results are assessed to give a grading for that carpet.
Wherever possible, we use independent testing carried out by the ACCS as a measure of performance for our carpets, this provides an unbiased rating system that allows us to easily compare products.
This is important as many carpets look the same but depending on the fibre type and the way they are constructed they can wear very differently.
If you are looking for a long term appearance retention you should look for products that have a performance grading of 10 or more on our samples.
A graphic example of this is shown below, the two carpets are of the same weight, colour and construction, but different fibres. They were put through the same test and the results are clear to see.
